Computer Vision and Remote Sensing (CVRS) Laboratory, Wuhan University, was founded by Prof. Jian Yao in April 2012. At present, our lab consists of 1 post-doctor, more than 20 PhD candidates and postgraduates, and more than a dozen undergraduates. Since launch, our lab has undertaken and participated in a series of national and provincial research projects, including 973 Program, the National Natural Science Foundation of China (General Program; Key Program; Major Program), the Science and Technology Support Program of Hubei Province, the Science and Technology Support Program of Jiangsu Province, Hubei Provincial Natural Science Funds Programs, etc. Besides, we have close cooperation with related companies, such as Tencent, Leador, Geoway, Jiangsu Zhitu, Hunan Bridge-Health, etc.

Our main research directions:

The WHU-CVRS Lab welcomes you to apply for a postdoctoral position at the post-doctoral research center of School of Remote Sensing and Information Engineering, Wuhan University. Besides state subsidies, we would offer extra scientific research fund and living allowance. If you are interested in our research domains, please do not hesitate to contact Prof. Jian Yao.


The WHU-CVRS Lab welcomes suitably-qualified applicants who have a keen interest in educational research. If you are good at programming or have a solid foundation in the mathematics, please do not hesitate to contact Prof. Jian Yao.

The WHU-CVRS Lab welcomes well-qualified undergraduates to join us, especially those with good English reading and writing skills, teamwork skills, programming skills and solid foundation of mathematics. Corresponding professional background is not required. Please do not hesitate to contact Prof. Jian Yao if you are interested in our research directions or programs.

The WHU-CVRS Lab welcomes merit PhD candidates and postgraduates to join us for about 6 to 12 months. We would offer some subsidies, but you need to solve the accommodation problem by yourself.


The WHU-CVRS Lab welcomes excellent engineers in mechanical design, hardware integration or software system development to join us for more than 6 months. You will sign an employment contract with Wuhan University, including five insurance payments, and both wages and benefits are discussed via interview.
