The invited report of Prof. James Elder from York University in Canada is successfully held in the meeting room-202 in the School of Remote Sensing and Engineering of Wuhan University on 9:30 a.m. in 24/10/2016. Prof. Elder is inverted by the Computer Vision and Remote Sensing Laboratory (WHU-CVRS Lab). The topic of this report is “Single-View 3D Scene Analysis”. During the one hour report, Prof. Elder firstly introduced several vision perception mechanisms that should be shared in both the computer vision and human vision. Then Prof. Elder gave a brief introduction on the researching fields his team are now working on, including single image depth estimation based on optical flow, image rectification, pedestrian detection and vehicle velocity estimation based on the surveillance video. Students and professors from School of Remote Sensing and Engineering and the State Key Laboratory of Information Engineering in Surveying, Mapping and Remote Sensing attended this meeting.
