Introduction of ICPR'2016

This is the 23th conference of ICPR, the topic of which is Image Analysis and Machine Learning for Scene Understanding. There are 1234 papers submitted in total, and 677 are accepted, among which there are 199 papers accepted as oral reports with an accept ratio of 16%. The creator of ImageNet Dr. Feifei Li is invited to give a report.

Invited report 1 Dependency and Structure in Pattern Recognition - Prof. Robert Haralick

Invited report 2 A Quest for Visual Intelligence in Computers - Dr. Feifei Li

ICPR2016

Invited report 3 Visual Congruent Ads for Image Search - Dr. Ricardo Baeza-Yates

The title of Xiaohu Lu et al.'s paper is Edge Chain Detection by Applying Helmholtz Principle on Gradient Magnitude Map. In the report, master Lu introduced the application of Helmholtz Principle on structure detection and validation, and then gave a detail explanation on how to apply the Helmholtz Principle on gradient map for edge chain detection. The result of the proposed method is much better than the traditional methods on both accuracy and recall ratio.
